🔧 SETUP
Step 1 — Attach Components
Attach both:
EDT K9 Handler HUD (to your HUD slot)
EDT K9 Dog Attachment (Give this to your K9, then have them attach it)
Step 2 — Set Communication Channel
⚠ IMPORTANT: Both the HUD and Dog Attachment MUST be on the same channel
Set Channel on Handler HUD
Type in chat:
/1 menu
Enter your desired channel number when prompted
Set Channel on Dog Attachment
Type in chat:
/1 menu
Enter the same channel number used on the HUD
⚠ CHANNEL RULES
ONLY use negative numbers
Example:
-877
Do NOT use positive channels (this prevents interference with other systems)
Step 3 — Activate System
Once both components are set to the same channel:
The system will link automatically
K9 will begin responding to commands
✔ System is now operational
Step 4 — Set Agency & Breed
Using the HUD:
Select Agency
Enter your department name
(Example: Ashland County Sheriff’s Office)
You can also:
Set the K9 Breed
This will display in the floating text above the K9
✔ Both values are saved and persist after reset
Step 5 — Customize Floating Text
The Dog Attachment allows full customization:
Change text color
Adjust transparency
Toggle floating text ON/OFF
✔ Designed for immersive RP or clean visuals
🐕 GENERAL USE
The EDT K9 Control System provides real-time control over your K9 partner through the Handler HUD.
🎮 COMMAND SYSTEM
Use the HUD buttons to issue commands:
Movement & Position
HEEL → K9 moves to your side
COME → Returns to handler
STAY → Holds position
BACK → Creates distance
Posture Control
SIT → Sit position
DOWN → Lay down
CALM → Relaxed state
Operational Commands
SEARCH → Area search
TRACK → Follow target/path
ALERT → Detection signal
BARK → Audible warning
Engagement Commands
BITE → Engage (RP controlled)
RELEASE → Disengage
GUARD → Protective stance
Utility
KENNEL → Reset / return state

COMMAND FEEDBACK
When a command is issued, the system provides immersive feedback to the K9:
“Your handler has given you a command.”
⚠️ TROUBLESHOOTING
K9 Not Responding
Ensure BOTH devices are attached
Verify channels match exactly
Reset both HUD and Dog Attachment
Channel Issues
Double-check both are using the same number
Ensure it is negative
Floating Text Not Showing
Check if it was toggled OFF
Adjust transparency settings
Reset the attachment
